Research Profile

Carbon-neutral buildings · Building performance · Computational design

I develop simulation- and data-driven methods for designing lower-carbon, energy-efficient, and comfortable buildings.

I am a PhD candidate at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. My research sits at the intersection of building science, computational design, and artificial intelligence, with published work spanning building retrofits, advanced HVAC terminal systems, radiant cooling, daylight optimization, and data-driven visual-comfort assessment.

Academic experience

2026.05–Present

Visiting Researcher · University of California, Berkeley

A one-year research visit to the Center for the Built Environment (CBE), supported by the PolyU International Collaborative Research Fellowship, extending my work on low-carbon HVAC systems and occupant comfort.

2023.09–Present

PhD Candidate · The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

Researching carbon-neutral buildings through retrofit analysis and advanced HVAC systems. This work combines EnergyPlus simulation, life-cycle cost and exergy analysis, field measurement, and performance optimization.

2018.09–2023.06

Bachelor of Architecture · Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Developed multi-objective methods for daylight and shading design, followed by a deep-learning workflow for reconstructing fisheye luminance maps and supporting real-time visual-comfort assessment.
